Instructions for Accessing CITI or CPD for Demonstrating HRP Knowledge


CITI

1.       Access: CITI URL is www.citiprogram.org

2.       New User: If you have not previously registered for CITI training, click on Register for the CITI Course (appears above the boxes for Username and Password). During the registration process you will create a Username and Password for use when returning to the site.

3.       Register:

a.       Select your institution

1)       Under All Others, select University of Cincinnati. Click Submit.

b.       Select your Username and Password

1)       Enter the Username and Password that you want. Click Submit.

c.       Enter Information:  

1)       Enter the requested information. Note: Birth Date, Department, and Office Phone help us identify you in the UC database where we store the training records.

2)       At “For Which course do you plan to take?” there are 3 possible selections: Biomedical, Social & Behavioral or both. Select one. You can change this selection later if needed.

3)       At “Role in human subjects research” select the one most appropriate role.  If the appropriate role is not listed, select the one that is closest.  This choice does not affect the modules that need to be taken.

4)       When registration information is complete, click submit.

4.       Select Group:

1)       Follow the steps on the screen. Note: You must open information from your institution before you can select a Group.

2)       Select the training that you wish to complete.

5.       Complete Training

a.       Select Basic Course and your individualized Grade Book opens.

1)       Complete the modules in the order presented. If you must exit before completing all the modules, when you return you will begin where you left off.

2)       Each module includes a quiz.  A passing score is 80%. You may re-take the quiz as many times as needed. Your highest score is recorded.

3)       Notification is sent automatically to UC when the course is successfully completed.

 

CPD

1.       Access: CPD URL http://cpd.uc.edu

2.       On left-hand menu, select Login and follow the on screen instructions.

3.       On the left-hand menu, pause your cursor over Competency Testing until a pick list appears.

4.       Select the appropriate test from the list. Note: If the list does not display, on the left-hand menu click on Competency Testing, scroll down the page to Competency Testing section, and select the appropriate test.

5.       Click the Program Title.

6.       Select Click here to complete the on-line test.

7.       Follow the on-screen directions.  A passing score is 80%. You may re-take the quiz as many times as needed. Your highest score is recorded.

8.       The IRB office staff has access to CPD to confirm you have completed the training. It is not necessary for you to notify them.
