Occupational Health and Safety for Animal Users

Federal regulations require the University to have a health and safety program for all individuals with occupational exposure to animals.  This includes all faculty, staff, and students working with animals as well as maintenance personnel working in the animal facility.  The program is operated by University Health Services (UHS) with support from the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) and Laboratory Animal Medical Services (LAMS).

New animal users are required to complete an enrollment questionnaire as part of the IACUC Orientation course which users must attend.  The questionnaire must be submitted every three years during the IACUC Orientation course.
