Transgenic Animal Registry

The purpose of the Transgenic Registry is to ensure the University of Cincinnati’s compliance with section III-E-3 of the NIH Guidelines which requires the Institutional Biosafety Committee to be notified of experiments involving transgenic rodents used at  Biosafety Level 1 (BSL1) containment.

Research activities which require BSL2 containment or higher must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Biosafety Committee prior to the initiation of the activities.

The Transgenic Registry will also serve as a resource for Principle Investigators to identify strains which may be available within the institution.
