to LAMS is a privilege and failure to adhere to established facility
procedures may result in revocation of badge access. Questions or
concerns are encouraged both during and after facility orientation.
The instructor will explain and demonstrate the following
procedures in the lab. Then the trainee must perform these techniques
to the satisfaction of the instructor to complete and pass the lab.

for users who will be performing rodent anesthesia, surgery, and
advanced techniques. These sessions are offered as needed based on
research needs and are free to the trainee and laboratory.
1) Rodent Techniques and Procedures Wet Lab
2) Rodent Surgery and Aseptic Techniques Lab
3) Surgical Procedures Wet Lab
This training session offers in-depth, hands-on surgical training on
the following procedures at no cost to you. Please note that requested
surgical procedures/techniques must be approved in your IACUC protocol.
4) Rodent Necropsy
requires LAMS general training for the USDA-covered species being
utilized. Training is specific to the protocol and is customized for
the procedures and techniques researchers will be performing.
