Biosafety Live Trainings

Introduction to Biosafety - Biosafety "101"

This training provides an introduction to biological safety issues including definitions, risk assessment, principles, safe laboratory practices and disinfection methods. Approximately 1 hour.

Biosafety Cabinets
This training includes instructions on the proper selection, care, use and maintenance of biological safety cabinets. Approximately 40 minutes.

Viral Vector Safety
This training provides information on how to assess the risks of experiments involving viral vectors as well as the safety precautions  to be considered while performing those experiments. Approximately 1 hour.

Trainings are scheduled upon request.

Other Relevant Online Training

OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Training (EHS Office)

This training is provided to all employees working on projects involving the use of human source materials (e.g. established and primary cells, blood, plasma, serum, tissues).  This training is required both at the time of initial work assignment and at least every 12 months thereafter. 

OSHA Hazard Communication (EHS Office)

This training is provided to all employees who work directly with hazardous chemicals and for those who may be exposed to hazardous chemicals through their occupations or work environments. This training is required both at the time of initial work assignment and at least every twelve months thereafter.
